From the Clinic's office:

If your student has any of the following health issues, do not send your student to school.

  • Temperature of 100.4 degrees farenheit or higher when taken by mouth;
  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (or, for students with a chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline);
  • Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain; or
  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever

Please take your student to your physician and bring an excuse not upon the student's return.
Sending your student to school knowingly having these symptoms will result in them being sent home unexcused.

We ask anyone in the North Forest community who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 to please notify our school immediately by contacting
713-967-8699.

  • Health & Safety: We value your student’s safety, so we strongly encourage them and all staff and personnel to wear a mask each day. If student does not have a mask upon arriving, they may ask for one at the office or in their homerooms.

Attendance Office:
Absent notes must be turned in within 3 school days of the student's absence.
Exceeding 3 absences per semester puts your student at risk of losing credit. Truancy letters will be sent out next week.

  • Late Arrival: All classes begin at 8:30am everyday, it is expected that students are in their seats and prepared to learn at this time. To ensure that students receive bell-to-bell instruction for each period, please drop off your students no later than 8:10AM every morning. This allows them to grab breakfast if they like and walk to class to be on time. Students who arrive after 8:30AM must check in at the front office and receive a tardy demerit. When students hit 3 tardy demerits, they begin to earn lunch detentions. Please, help us to get students to class on time.

Common Assessments:

CAs are an opportunity to gauge student learning during the school year. This year's CAs will take place from Monday, October 11th through Tuesday, October 12th in classes. It is essential that all students come to school well rested and ready to test with their fully charged laptops on those days. CAs will weigh 5% of each students' overall semester average. All CAs for the fall will be 80 minutes in length.

Q1 grades close on Friday, October 22nd. Please be sure to make up any missing assignments to ensure that you are on track to earn credit for every course you are enrolled in.

ESSER tutorials are mandated by the state of Texas for 8th grade students who failed or missed 7th grade Reading and Math STAAR, and any high school student who failed or missed an EOC exam. These tutorials will begin on Monday, October 4th and will run for four Saturdays. Please support us by making sure that your student is in attendance on these days. Snacks will be provided.

College Initiatives:

  • 12th Grade Class of 2022 Announcements:
    • SAT School Day is happening Wednesday, October 13th - It is mandatory all students attend! It is free for students.
      • Plan to have your student bring a calculator and #2 pencil!
    • To prepare for SAT School Day, ensure your student is attending all SAT tutorials and practicing on the official SAT practice on khanacademy.org
    • If you missed the required family meeting, you can watch the recording here: https://youtu.be/GjwNtHSzG0g
      • This recording covers college applications, financial aid, schoology for college counselors, and high school graduation requirements - it houses a lot of important information so it is important you set aside to watch it if you haven't!

To track your student's bus and to get updates on arrival times, download the FirstView® app. (School code: UKF3) If the FirstView® app is not working and you cannot see the ETA of the bus to your stop, please call the bus yard that corresponds to your campus, and the dispatcher will be able to give you information about your route.
