Common Assessments:

CAs are an opportunity to gauge student learning during the school year. This year's CAs will take place from Monday, October 11th through Tuesday, October 12th in classes. It is essential that all students come to school well rested and ready to test with their fully charged laptops on those days. CAs will weigh 5% of each students' overall semester average. All CAs for the fall will be 80 minutes in length.

Q1 grades close on Friday, October 22nd. Please be sure to make up any missing assignments to ensure that you are on track to earn credit for every course you are enrolled in.

ESSER tutorials are mandated by the state of Texas for 8th grade students who failed or missed 7th grade Reading and Math STAAR, and any high school student who failed or missed an EOC exam. These tutorials will begin on Monday, October 4th and will run for four Saturdays. Please support us by making sure that your student is in attendance on these days. Snacks will be provided.

12TH GRADE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

College Applications are beginning in Seminar!

Students will begin work on applying to college and for financial aid. It is a Texas state high school graduation requirement for this year that all students apply for financial aid (FAFSA or TASFA)- your student may ask you for your tax information. Please allow them to utilize it for this purpose. If your family has not yet filed taxes, please let your student's college counselor know and visit the Baker Ripley Tax Center to get them filed before October 15th https://www.bakerripley.org/services/baker-ripley-tax-center

Completed taxes are required for applying for financial aid. Please do not submit any applications without having a college counselor look at it first. Counselors are trained to find common mistakes many people make on both college applications and applications for financial aid; we will help make sure your student complete flawless applications!
